Position Opening: Power System Engineer
Company: ESCO Energy Services (EESCO)
Locations: Marion, IA and Des Moines, IAEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The role of the engineers at EESCO is to provide self-directed engineering services in support of EESCO clients.
Essential duties include using sophisticated software and hardware to analyze and/or design electrical power systems. Their duties include using a computer-based modeling system to perform complex calculations and evaluate the performance of the system by simulation. These evaluations include short circuit/fault current studies, protective device coordination studies, power load flow studies, and arc flash hazards analyses. Further, their duties also include performing other types of power quality studies such as grounding studies, harmonics analysis, transient stability analysis, and motor starting studies.
Their duties also include providing electrical design engineering and project management services in support of EESCO’s turnkey design/build services for electrical projects. They also support EESCO’s measurement and testing services activities by reviewing test reports for consistency and accuracy.
Position Opening: Test Technician

Locations: Marion, IA and Des Moines, IAEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The role of the test technicians at EESCO is to provide self-directed testing, preventive maintenance, and remedial maintenance services in support of EESCO clients.
Essential duties include using sophisticated test equipment, as well as interpreting associated test results, to ascertain plant equipment status and health. Further, their duties include making appropriate recommendations for corrective action and/or making subsequent repairs of the equipment.
Their duties also include oversight responsibility of EESCO activities associated with performing various maintenance planning services as these services relate to the implementation of a comprehensive maintenance program for EESCO’s clients. Additionally, test technicians provide technical support, system commissioning services, and field engineering services for various engineering projects implemented through EESCO.
Their duties also include providing electrical design engineering and project management services in support of EESCO’s turnkey design/build services for electrical projects. They also support EESCO’s measurement and testing services activities by reviewing test reports for consistency and accuracy.
Position Opening: Control Systems Engineer

Background/Work Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering or Computer Science from a four year college or university; and one to four years of related experience.
- Proven to be proficient in one or more of the following; electrical design, PLC & HMI programming.
- Demonstrated PC literacy with MS Office 2007, and Auto Cad.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Discuss projects with project team and clients to review functions of equipment and systems. Interface with project team and clients regularly to resolve technical issues, ensure expectations are met.
- Work with designers and drafting personnel to develop control panel layouts and electrical schematics. May be required to do drafting personally when others are not available.
- Configure, test and commission PLC/HMI based control systems for assigned projects.
- Display in your work efforts the company’s strategies to retain and improve business with key customers.
- Utilize, support and enhance ESCO Automation’s standards and best practices.
- Ensure that all paperwork such as time sheet and expense reports are completed on time and accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment that represents a professional company image. Keep workspace, desks, test benches and tables clean and organized on a daily basis
- Understand and communicate the basic company’s services and know who within our organization the client can contact to discuss other opportunities.

Travel Requirements:
- Able to accommodate approximately 15% of overnight travel for on-site service calls. Project startups may attribute to greater lengths of overnight stay. Largely dependent upon project scope, schedule, and assigned tasks.

Postition Opening: Electrical Designers

- Our project teams are in need of experienced electrical designers with a technical or engineering degree capable of generating complete industrial control designs from project requirements and/or field inspection with minimal direction.
