In addition to the testing described above for transformers, breakers and associated protective relaying, CT polarity is checked and point-to-point wiring checks are provided. Further, the correct operation of associated safety interlocks will be confirmed. Ground impedance measurement and testing is performed, along with cable testing and bus testing, as required. Contact resistance tests and alignment checks are performed on the switchgear equipment with adjustments be provided, as needed.
All switches, switchgear enclosures, cable compartments, cubical interlocks, racking and shutter mechanisms, and the outside of the enclosure are cleaned, inspected, and lubricated. Switches are cleaned of old lubricant and tested for proper operation making sure that blade engagement is in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Linkages and doors are adjusted, as needed, in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
